A 61-year-old man is dead after a collision between a half-ton truck and a semi in the RM of St. Andrews on Friday evening.
The half-ton was driving north on Highway 8 when it struck a semi-truck turning south at the PR 27 intersection.
The driver of the half-ton, who is from St. Andrews, was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi-truck’s driver, a 50-year-old Ontario man, was not injured.
The intersection of Highway 8 and PR 27 was closed for about five hours following the collision but is now open. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts, and Selkirk RCMP say alcohol was not a factor.
The investigation continues.
