“Our seasonal employees play a vital role in our organization by supporting our stores during out industry’s peak months,” said Marc Macdonald, senior vice president of human resources at Lowe’s Canada, in a news release Monday.

Lowe’s Canada and Home Depot Canada’s peak months are spring and summer.

Economists predicted a gradual rebound for real estate in late 2019, which often leads to home improvement, resulting in more sales for stores like Lowe’s and the Home Depot.

On March 14, Lowe’s Canada is having a National Hiring Day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. where people can meet the management teams at all Lowe’s and RONA stores.

Macdonald said Lowe’s Canada is seeking “driven, dynamic, and customer-focused applicants.” There are almost 10 different positions available.

Home Depot Canada is looking to hire 190 new positions across Manitoba for the busy spring season. Available positions are full time, part time and seasonal, including overnight work.

“Our team is built on a set of core values shared by four generations of associates working in our stores,” said Aliana Rozenek, vice-president of human resources at Home Depot Canada, in a news release Monday.

People interested in working at Home Depot can text “Home Depot Jobs” to 97211 to apply. They can also visit careershomedepot.ca as there are no upcoming career fairs in their Manitoba stores.

There are two Lowe’s stores and three RONA stores with job openings in Manitoba. Home Depot has six locations in the province.

Lowe’s Canada employees have access to discounts, educational incentive programs, and continuing education.

Home Depot Canada offers employees company-paid health and dental benefits, profit-sharing programs, tuition reimbursement and employee assistance programs.
