Hey there, time traveller!

Residents of The Pas were advised their tap water isn’t fit for drinking, washing food, brushing teeth or using to prepare baby formula.
A raw water pump at the water treatment plant has failed and can’t clean the water. A provincial drinking water avoidance advisory was posted Friday.
To keep the taps running in town, water is being supplied from a “well of unknown water quality,” the advisory reads. As a result, the precautionary advisory was issued to ensure public health.
It’s OK to use the tap water for laundry or washing dishes. Adults and older children can use it to shower, bathe or wash, provided they don’t swallow the water. However, young children should be sponge-bathed.
The province warns against trying to treat the water. “Boiling, freezing, filtering, adding chlorine or other disinfectants, or letting the water stand (will) not make the water safe,” the advisory reads.
The advisory will be in effect until further notice.
It’s the second time this month the treatment plant has had a problem. On Aug.1, the town asked residents and businesses to conserve water because the plant’s capacity to produce water was limited.
Attempts to contact the municipal superintendent for The Pas multiple times were unsuccessful.
