The Manitoba Liquor and Gaming Authority will be granting drinking establishments a one-time exemption to remain open an extra hour Saturday night, due to the Winnipeg Jets playoff game in Anaheim.
Bars will be allowed to serve until 3 a.m. and remain open until 4 a.m.
The Jets will face-off against the Anaheim Ducks in Game 2 beginning at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday night.
Hockey appears to be a soft spot for the MLGA, which in 2014 granted permission for bars to open at 5 a.m. for the men’s gold medal hockey game at the Sochi Olympics.
The extended hours will apply to dining rooms, private clubs, cabarets, beverage rooms and cocktail lounges.
