The cost to keep your shower water warm is going down.

Slightly.

The province’s Public Utilities Board said in an order released today that it has approved an application by Centra Gas to decrease the current primary gas rate from $0.1567/m3 to $0.1551/m3 effective Aug. 1.

The PUB says it means the projected annual bill impact for a typical residential customer is a decrease of approximately 0.8% or $7 a year. Primary Gas rates will be reviewed again November 1.

Primary gas rates for customers that have signed fixed-term fixed-price contracts, with either Centra or a private broker, are not affected.

The PUB’s full order is to be posted here.
