Winnipeg police have made an arrest following a homicide in a Point Douglas rooming house Monday.
The incident occurred at around 5 a.m. in the 200 block of Austin Street North. Jeffery Campbell, 25, was stabbed in the upper body and transported to hospital in critical condition.
He later succumbed to his injuries.
The following investigation by the homicide unit revealed that Campbell and the accused had been at the rooming house consuming drugs when they became involved in a dispute.
Shortly before midnight on Tuesday, the suspect, Michael Tyler John Boubard of Winnipeg, was arrested without incident in the area of Bannatyne Avenue and Lydia Street.
The 21-year-old has been charged with second-degree murder for his alleged involvement.
Boubard was detained at the provincial remand centre.
