A 29-year-old man is dead after a single-vehicle crash on Highway 202 just south of Lockport, police say.
East St. Paul RCMP responded to the crash at about 5 p.m. Wednesday, and the highway was closed for about four hours as officials investigated.
RCMP say it appears the vehicle hit the shoulder of the road and rolled. A witness said via Twitter that it appeared the vehicle was travelling northbound on Highway 202 (Birds Hill Road).
The victim, who was the vehicle’s only occupant, was ejected. He was not wearing a seatbelt, RCMP said.
He was pronounced dead on scene. The man was from the RM of St. Clements.
It is not yet known whether alcohol was involved.
The witness also tweeted that two ambulances attended to the scene.
The dead man’s name will not be released.
