Two charged with trafficking 3D-printed “ghost guns”

Two men already in prison have been charged with trafficking 3D-printed “ghost guns” as part of a criminal network.

Investigators, including the Canada Border Services Agency, say legitimate 3D printing services were solicited to manufacture handgun frames, which were allegedly assembled into functioning guns and sold between June and December 2022.

Jashon Anthony Fernando, 23, was arrested at the Winnipeg Remand Centre on Dec. 21. On Monday, 24-year-old Blake James Ellison-Crate was arrested at the Headingley Correctional Centre.

Both face weapons trafficking charges and remain in custody.
