Police have taped off an area around the Salvation Army Centre of Hope this morning as they investigate a crime.

The shelter is located at the corner of Main Street and Henry Avenue. The sealed-off area includes part of the sidewalk on the east side of Main.

The attack happened Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.

The city’s third homicide of 2023 happened nearby just days ago. Carl George Wescoupe, 40, was found dead inside a suite at the Manwin Hotel on Sunday. No one has been arrested in his death, and the WPS has not said how he died.
