A 52-year-old man is in critical condition after a four-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 2 and Highway 248 in southern Manitoba earlier today.

RCMP report a southbound pickup truck entered the intersection and collided with an eastbound semi truck. The southbound pickup was then struck by a westbound pickup truck, and then struck again by an eastbound pickup truck.

The 52-year-old driver of the southbound pickup truck, from Hadashville, Man., was transported to hospital with serious injuries and was listed in critical condition, police said in a news release. His passenger was uninjured. The occupants of the other vehicles involved were not hurt.

Road conditions and alcohol are not considered factors, police say. It is unknown at this time whether the injured driver was wearing a seatbelt.

The crash is still under investigation.
