On Oct. 18, 1919: The Manitoba Free Press reported that elections in Ontario held up Parliament, which was considering a bill on the Grand Trunk railroad as well as looking at measures to control the cocaine trade. The names of the four men who would represent Canada at a labour conference in Washington, D.C. were announced.
