A 51-year-old man from Toronto was killed after a head-on collision with another vehicle on Tuesday morning near McCreary.

McCreary is about 50 kilometres southeast of Dauphin and 250 km northwest of Winnipeg.

RCMP said two vehicles collided on Highway 5 near the junction of PR 50 in the municipality of McCreary.

The man was driving a car southbound on Highway 5 when the car crossed into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a semi-tractor-trailer unit.

The man, who was the lone occupant of the car, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the truck did not suffer serious injuries.

The investigation is continuing with the assistance of a collision reconstructionist to establish the contributing factors to this collision.
