Two Winnipeg police officers were responding to a call Thursday night when their cruiser was struck by a car at the intersection of Lagimodiere Boulevard and Regent Avenue.

The police car, which had its flashing lights and siren on, was travelling west on Regent when it was hit on the passenger side by a southbound vehicle. The officers were on their way to a “high-priority” incident when the crash took place at about 7:45 p.m., a police spokeswoman said.

Both officers and the driver, who suffered minor injuries, went to hospital in stable condition.

The crash is being reviewed by a police collision review board, which consists of an internal group of officers.
