The police bomb squad was sent to a building on Marion Street after a suspicious package was reported to be found Monday morning.
The squad has since left the scene in the industrial area because the package was apparently harmless.
About 9:50 a.m., someone working in the area told police about the package, which Winnipeg Police Service spokeswoman Const. Tammy Skrabek said was strapped near the fuel tank of a vehicle near 736 Marion St.
Officers decided to call in the bomb squad, and the building was evacuated.
