Winnipeg fire crews battled flames coming from a third-floor apartment at 469 Kennedy St. Thursday evening.

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service got the call around 8:20 p.m.

Fire officials say no one was injured. Residents took shelter in a nearby transit bus while crews spent about two hours extinguishing the flames.

The fire is still under investigation. Fire officials don’t yet know what started the fire or how extensive the damage will be.
