Police have charged a A 16-year-old boy with two counts of arson in connection to the fire at Kildonan East Collegiate on Oct. 16.
The fire was started in a bathroom on the second floor and was contained there by fire crews.
No one was injured.
Damage has been estimated at $500,000 due to extensive smoke damage throughout the school.
The youth was arrested on Thursday and has been released on a promise to appear.
The second floor of the school, where there are 24 classrooms, will be closed for about four weeks while the cleanup continues.
Students are occupying temporary classrooms on the main floor that were created by using the library and a portion of the cafeteria and gym.
