Winnipeg police have made two more arrests in connection to rash of shoplifting incidents dating back to August.

Matthew Nicholas Beaulieu, 18, is charged with robbery, possession of a weapon and failure to comply with court conditions for his alleged involvement in the thefts, which occurred in six different stores on Corydon Avenue, Portage Avenue, St. James Street and Sterling Lyon Parkway.

A 17-year-old girl has also been charged with numerous counts of theft as well as failing to comply with court orders.

Police made the arrests on Wednesday, a day after three suspects stole items from a Corydon Avenue store and threatened employees with a weapon.

Earlier this week, a 21-year-old woman and two teenage girls, aged 16 and 17, were arrested and charged for their alleged role in the robberies, which occurred between Aug. 27 and Oct. 27.

Total value of the stolen items of clothing is estimated at nearly $14,000.

The investigation continues. Police expect to make further arrests in this case.
