RCMP have ruled out foul play in the death of a 19-year-old Winkler man in Pembina Valley Provincial Park.

The body of Travis Sukkau was found Monday, four days after police and RCMP in the area began a search for the missing teenager. Sukkau had left for a day trip to the park on the morning of Oct. 23 after telling his brother, Steven, he was going to take some pictures.

Sukkau’s blue 1997 Pontiac Sunfire was found in a wooded area of the park, located near Winkler.

Travis Sukkau, 19, went missing Thursday during an outing to the Pembina Valley Provincial Park south of Morden. RCMP are seeking the public's help in locating him.

Today, police said the death was “non-criminal in nature.”

The Sukkau family left a message on Facebook about the teen’s death.

“There was no foul play, it was not self-inflicted, just a tragic accident,” the message stated.
