Winnipeg police say it could be a few weeks before an autopsy can be performed and the results known following the discovery of a woman’s body outside two days after she went missing.

The woman has been identified as 18-year-old Autumn Prince by family members to other media. Prince lived in Selkirk, but had recently moved to Winnipeg.

Winnipeg police spokesman Const. Jay Murray said the autopsy is still pending and until it is done and any other tests are completed they won’t know the circumstances behind the death.

The woman’s body was discovered outside a home in the 600 block of Ross Avenue Tuesday. She had been reported missing Monday, and police were told she hadn’t been seen since Sunday evening.

Environment Canada said the temperature Sunday and Monday dropped to lows of -23C and -25C with windchills on those days making it feel like -36C and -39C.
