Sadie Grimm Commemorative Picnic Shelter

Sadie Grimm was the winner of the first motorcycling prize ever
awarded in Canada to a woman in a competition open to men. She
became a spokesperson for women's motorcycling in 1914 a
watershed year for women's rights in Manitoba. A small group of motorcyclists associated with the Coalition of Manitoba
Motorcyclists (CMMG) are raising money to build a motorcycle
themed picnic shelter at Winnipeg Beach near the spot where
Sadie was awarded the gold medal for her achievement.  The
volunteers have raised nearly 90% of the budget for this steel
structure, first of it's kind that we know of. 

Help us raise the final amount. The picnic shelter will become a 
destination for motorcyclists and visitors for years to come. 
Sadie Grimm was inducted into the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of 
Fame (see video below). Rose and Rob Barg wrote a song in 
Sadie's honour (Rob Barg performs in a you tube video below).
