Police are asking the public to help identify thieves who wore distinctive snowmobile jackets when they were filmed stealing three new snowmobiles.

Gimli RCMP released surveillance footage on Friday.

Police were called to the heist while it was in progress at about 1:35 a.m. Thursday. By the time they arrived at the dealer’s lot, three Polaris snowmobiles worth a total of about $50,000 were taken.

“Surveillance cameras captured the theft in progress. RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the three suspects who were all wearing balaclavas and distinctive snowmobile jackets,” the statement said.

Gimli RCMP can be contacted at 204-642-5106, and Manitoba Crime Stoppers can be contacted anonymously at 1-800-222-8477, or online at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com
