The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have a tasty home slate on the menu, featuring six Friday nighters, three Saturday games and one Thursday match to offer their fans in 2018.

The CFL unveiled its schedule for the upcoming season Thursday afternoon.

Winnipeg will open its regular season on Thursday, June 14 against the same Edmonton Eskimos who eliminated the Blue Bombers in the West Division semifinal on Nov. 13, 39-32.

It will be an earlier start for Winnipeg, which kicked off its 2017 regular season with a bye in Week 1.

In 2018, the CFL’s regular season opens eight days earlier in order to accommodate three bye weeks instead of the previous two. In doing so, the league intends to improve player safety by eliminating short work weeks.

Winnipeg, which will be the last team with a week off in 2018, has been granted byes in Weeks 8, 14 and 19.

The Blue Bombers will face the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Eskimos three times each in 2018, and each of the other six teams twice.

The Roughriders will host Winnipeg in their traditional Labour Day Weekend Classic matchup on Sunday, Sept. 2 to be followed by the Banjo Bowl at Investors Group Field on Saturday, Sept. 8. Saskatchewan returns to IGF on Saturday, Oct. 3.
