Winnipeg police made two drug busts Thursday that netted more than $50,000 worth of methamphetamine.

Officers armed with a search warrant raided a suite in the 200 block of Chalmers Avenue East after receiving a tip from someone who reported seeing a handgun and drugs. They found a loaded handgun, $25,000 in meth, $30,000 in cocaine and $15,000 in cash.

Tyion Policarpo, 28, has been charged with numerous firearms and drug offences. He is in custody.

Meanwhile, police responding to a report of a man being threatened went to an apartment in the 3300 block of Pembina Highway found two men inside the suite with $26,000 worth of methamphetamine and a loaded shotgun.

Mario Trunzo, 50, has been charged with uttering threats as well as firearms and drug offences, while another man, in his 50s, has been charged with firearms and drug offences.

Trunzo is in custody and the other man was released on a promise to appear.
