A new Canadian Museum for Human Rights outdoor exhibit to mark the 100th anniversary of women’s right to vote opens Friday.
The exhibit, Let Them Howl: 100 Years in the Women’s Rights Struggle, features portraits of groundbreaking Canadian women and opens in Festival Park Friday, during the kickoff of the 47th annual Festival du Voyageur winter festival.
The festival begins with a torch-lit walk from the human right museum starting in the Bonnie and John Buhler Hall at 6:30 p.m. It end at Voyageur Park at about 7:30 p.m. for opening celebrations, including fireworks. The park will be open from 5 p.m. to midnight.
The 10-day Voyageur Pass, on sale at the festival office at 233 Provencher Blvd. and Safeway stores, are $32 for adults, $16 for 13-17 year olds, and $11 for children. Admission is free for children five and under.
