Fried Chicken Fest takes flight this Saturday with a flock of Winnipeg restaurants dishing up deep-fried goodness for the next seven days. The fourth annual food event runs Jan. 16 to 23 with more than 35 local establishments taking part amid Manitoba’s code red restrictions.

“Winnipeg’s restaurants are struggling and we look forward to seeing their creative entries that will entice people to enjoy Fried Chicken Fest at home,” said chef Allan Pineda, co-organizer of Fried Chicken Fest, in a media release.

Fried chicken enthusiasts can vote for their favourite dish online at friedchickenfest.ca; a winner will be announced following the event. Capital Grill Broadway was the 2020 crowd favourite and has returned this year to defend the title. Other participating restaurants include:
