After exiting their cruiser car, the two officers noticed a strong smell coming from a residence.The officers, deciding to investigate, approached the house and observed a number of dogs barking and clawing at the window. As they got closer, 15 dogs were observed inside the residence. The dogs appeared to be both malnourished and in distress.Animal Services Officers, with the assistance of General Patrol police officers, seized the 15 dogs and transported them to a City of Winnipeg facility where they received medical care. The dogs continue to receive treatment at this time and will be placed up for adoption at a later date.

Animal Services Officers, with the assistance of General Patrol police officers, seized the 15 dogs and transported them to a City of Winnipeg facility where they received medical care. The dogs continue to receive treatment at this time and will be placed up for adoption at a later date.

Dogs found dead: Hours after police announced charges against a woman for allegedly abandoning 15 dogs in unsafe and unsanitary conditions, sources told the Free Press three dead puppies had been found on the West End property. Ryan Thorpe reports. READ MORE
