Two Standard Aero employees were injured, one seriously, in an accident at the company’s facility on Sargent Avenue this morning.

Emergency crews were called to the building just before 11 a.m. after a small explosion.

All the employees were accounted for after they were evacuated.

The two injured workers were seen being loaded into ambulances and taken to hospital.

The hazardous materials unit was on the scene as was the Major Incident Response Vehicle (MIRV).

No cause has been determined at this time.

Standard Aero is working with authorities to determine the cause and has pledged to do a thorough investigation into the incident.

Standard Aero is the world’s largest independent small gas turbine engine and accessory repair and overhaul facility.
