A Transcona man is facing child pornography charges after an investigation by the Winnipeg Police Service’s Internet child exploitation unit.
Scott Sovak, 41, faces charges of possessing, accessing and distributing child pornography following a search of his home. He remained in custody Wednesday.
WPS spokesman Const. Rob Carver said police are reporting on these types of charges more often to make the public aware of them.
“It’s a terrible crime with really significant implications,” he said.
