Man wanted for second-degree murder

Winnipeg police continue to search for a man wanted for the slaying of a man in Winnipeg last week.

Dyson Irvin Sumner, 28, is wanted for second-degree murder in the killing of Murdo Baker and remains at large, police said in a news release.

Baker, 24, who is originally from South Indian Lake, was found unresponsive in an apartment block on the 800 block of Main Street at about 9:15 a.m. on March 19. He was rushed to hospital and died from his injuries.

Sumner is considered dangerous and should not be approached, police said.

The Winnipeg Police Service is asking anyone with information on Sumner’s whereabouts to call 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 204-786-TIPS.
