A Winnipeg man remains in custody following a sexual assault on Niakwa Road Wednesday afternoon.
The attack occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m., at which time police were dispatched to the area and arrested the suspect without incident.
The initial investigation revealed that the suspect, who was known to the 42-year-old victim, forced his way into the residence and struck the woman. He then sexually assaulted her before she was able to flee the residence. Police were contacted.
A 52-year-old man is facing a number of charges for his alleged involvement.
Members of the sex crimes unit are continuing with the investigation.
