Every London Drugs store in Western Canada is closed indefinitely as the company deals with the aftermath of a cyber incident.

The retail and pharmacy chain released a statement Sunday evening, informing shoppers the stores will remain closed until further notice.

“Upon discovering the incident, London Drugs immediately undertook countermeasures to protect its network and data, including retaining leading third-party cybersecurity experts to assist with containment, remediation and to conduct a forensic investigation,” the release said, noting the incident happened sometime on Sunday.

“At this time, we have no reason to believe that customer or employee data has been impacted.”

London Drugs said it was closing the stores “out of an abundance of caution.” In the interim, company pharmacists are standing by to “support and customers with urgent pharmacy needs.”

Customers are advised to phone their local store’s pharmacy to make arrangements for medication as needed.
