Shamattawa RCMP searching for missing man

RCMP are searching for a missing man who disappeared from a Manitoba First Nations community last week.

Melvin Lawrence Redhead was last seen in Shamattawa on Saturday wearing brown pants, a green and brown sweater and black shoes, RCMP said in a news release Wednesday.

RCMP are asking residents of the community, located roughly 740 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg, to check their backyards and outbuildings for any sign that Redhead might have taken shelter inside.

He is described as 5-10 tall and 210 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
