Arrest in slaying in South Indian Lake area

Manitoba RCMP have arrested a 28-year-old woman for the killing of a man near South Indian Lake.
Joanne Elizabeth Baker-Spence, from O-Pipon-Na-Piwin Cree Nation, is charged with manslaughter after a 61-year-old man was found dead in a wooded area outside South Indian Lake on Saturday, RCMP said Thursday.
The First Nation is located roughly 775 kilometres north of Winnipeg.
The investigation is ongoing, Mounties said.
