Four Manitobans got the call in the first round of Thursday’s WHL Prospects Draft.
The Lethbridge Hurricanes selected centre Tyden Lafournaise of the Winnipeg Bruins AAA U15 Bruins Gold with the 13th overall pick.
That pick was followed by Graeme Pickering of St. Adolphe, a defenceman with the Rink Hockey Academy U15 Prep, who went 15th overall to the Red Deer Rebels.
The Victoria Royals then took Winnipeg Bruins AAA U15 Brown centre Ludavic Perreault in the 18th slot while the Kamloops Blazers snapped up Asher Gingras of Steinbach, a centre with the Eastman AAA U15 Selects, with the 22th and final choice of the opening round.
