Kadriana and Colton Lott were eliminated from the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship on Friday morning in Sweden.

The Gimli couple, representing Canada, lost to Estonia 6-5 in an extra end.

Marie Kaldvee and Harri Lill advanced to the semifinals and will play Norway later today.

The Manitobans, who were 8-1 in their pool during the week-long event, settled for fifth place.

The Lotts had last-rock advantage in the extra end after holding Estonia to a single in the eighth. But Kadriana came up short on a difficult, last-rock draw that needed to get to the full button.

“We gave it everything we had,” said Colton. “It’s disappointing, for sure. But we’re going to take this and learn from it and look for ways to be even better next season.”

The 2024-25 season is crucial as the Canadian Mixed Doubles Trials are just eight months away — Dec. 30-Jan. 4 in Liverpool, N.S. — and Team Lott will be a clear favourite.
