One taken to hospital after serious assault

One person was rushed to hospital in unstable condition after a serious assault Tuesday.

Officers were sent to the 800 block of Main Street at about 1:15 p.m. and found a victim suffering from serious injuries, Winnipeg Police Service spokeswoman Const. Dani McKinnon said.

Officers will remain at the scene for some time, she said Tuesday afternoon.

No other details were immediately available.
