Pedestrian dead after St. Mary’s Road collision

City police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle early Saturday and later died.

Police were sent to the collision scene near St. Mary’s Road and Chesterfield Avenue at about 12:40 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service said Monday.

Officers found a 38-year-old woman suffering from serious injuries. Paramedics transported her to a hospital, where she died. The motorist remained at the scene of the collision, the WPS said.

Police have notified the woman’s family and continue to investigate, the WPS said.

WPS traffic division investigators are asking anyone with information on the collision, including video, to contact 204-986-7085, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 204-786-8477 (TIPS) or winnipegcrimestoppers.org.
