Pedestrian hit on St. Mary’s Road

A vehicle hit a pedestrian on St. Mary’s Road, leading to a closure on the throughfare early Saturday.

Police didn’t say whether anyone had been killed. The Winnipeg Police Service’s traffic division is investigating.

A section of St. Mary’s, near Chesterfield Avenue, was closed by at least 1:15 a.m. Saturday. The road remained closed until roughly 10:30 a.m.

During the closure, police markers dotted the scene. Yellow tape was strung on St. Mary’s Road across from a 7-11.

Employees of the convenience store said they believed the accident happened sometime after midnight.
