Electrical failure sparks fire

An electrical failure is being blamed for sparking a house fire in Transcona Saturday morning.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service crews found heavy smoke billowing out of a single family house after rushing to the 100 block of McFadden Avenue at 10:03 a.m.

Firefighters were able to attack the blaze inside the house before declaring it under control at 10:29 a.m.

No on was home at the time and no injuries were reported.

WFPS said the fire appears to have been accidental, and caused by an electrical failure. No damage estimate is known at this time.
